Community Service Opportunities

Romans 12:6-8

We have different gifts, according to the grace given us… If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously.

Hickory Flat Cares  encourages every member to use their gifts in service to the community.

Bags of Grace

This is a means for every church member to serve those who are homeless or in similar circumstances. Each bag contains a bottle of water, non-perishable food items, and other basics we often take for granted. Pick up a bag at the Welcome Desk, keep it in your car, and watch for opportunities to serve someone in need.

Suggested donation: $5 per bag.

You may also give consideration to serving with these local organizations:

M.U.S.T

Service opportunities vary, but may include: telephone receptionist, clothes closet, donation sorter, donation ambassador, client intake greeter, computer lab monitors, and resume writer.
