Honduras

Hickory Flat Church began its ministry in Honduras in 2007 after several members attended training for well drilling the previous year.

Our partnership is with Pastor Fidel Bardales of Iglesia de El Camino y La Verdad (The Church of the Way and the Truth) in Choluteca, Honduras.

At least one mission team has traveled to Honduras annually since 2007 and we give thanks to God for allowing us to be His witnesses and servants in the Choluteca area.

Through God’s grace and provision:

Well drilled (and later deepened) to provide potable water for the community
Medical/dental/vision teams have cared for hundreds
Vacation Bible School
School uniforms and supplies through H.E.A.P.
Sports equipment
Delivered Proclaimers provided by Faith Comes By Hearing
Construction projects: screens for windows/doors, paint and stucco, concrete floor
Development of a chicken enterprise (built a coup to house 100 chickens)

In an interview with the head of the school in the community, he stated:

"Hickory Flat Church’s presence has transformed the community. There is excitement in the air when the groups visit. We actually close the school early because the children are excited to visit with the “North American’s”. They come and share their faith, their gifts as God’s servants: digging the well, adding space for the children’s Sunday School classes, painting and maintaining the church building, giving medical and dental aid, playing with the children, sharing the Love of Christ, and forming a bond with the community. Their presence and gifts have renewed the souls of our community. God Bless you all."

Summer 2013

A Future Full of Hope (theme) - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11

July 7-14: The focus will be to provide basic medical and dental care and screenings. Those with (and without) medical and dental skills and training are invited to participate. This team will also be teaching basic general wellness to teenagers and adults.
