UMCOR is receiving urgent requests from ministry partners throughout the U.S. and around the world. Sadly, an overwhelming number of these requests are to meet the need for food.

Partners who operate or directly support food pantries are asking for help as the global fight against COVID-19 is inflating the price of food, especially in places where food insecurity was already a major public health issue - even here in the U.S.
Find out how you can help!

MUST Ministries serves Cherokee County families in need through its food, clothing, utility, rent, housing and employment assistance programs. You can purchase food from the M.U.S.T. Wish List on Amazon and have it delivered direct to MUST. This list has specific foods they need to keep in their pantry. More information is available on their website.

Meals on Wheels – Cherokee County Senior Services - For those who are unable to travel to the center for lunch, a meal can be delivered to a person’s home. All meals provide one-third of the recommended daily allowance for adults over age sixty and are low in sodium. All seniors must reside in Cherokee County to be eligible for this program. A donation is gratefully appreciated to cover program costs, but services will not be refused for inability to pay.

Visit their website for more information on volunteering or donating.

GIVE

CCSD will continue to accept financial donations for the program by check, mailed in using the online form (school staff signatures are not required), but donations now can be made instantly using a credit card at the website

“We greatly appreciate every donation we have received so far, as do our students who would otherwise go hungry,” Dr. Hightower said.  “If any money remains in this fund when we return to regular school operations, those monies will be used to pay off unpaid meal charges students can’t afford to pay off, in keeping with the original purpose of this ‘angel fund.’”

CCSD cannot accept donations of food or use volunteers to help with the to-go meals distribution.  CCSD Partners, including MUST Ministries and First Baptist Church of Woodstock, do need donations of food and household goods to distribute to our community’s families in need.
