Volunteer Opportunities
Church Grounds – We need additional mowers added to the team. We have the equipment. Contact: Holly Bogatay, Office Administrator.
Children’s Ministry – As our program is growing, volunteers are needed for Sunday morning programs (10a Classes and 9a/11a Children’s Church) as well as Wednesday night at 6:30p. Contact: Nichole Hall, Children’s Minister.
Nursery – As the Nursery is growing, we have the need for additional volunteers on Sunday mornings at 9am. Your commitment would be just 1 time per month. Contact: Connie Klements, Nursery Director, for more information.
 
Combined Services Dates – Mark your calendars!
August 4 – Back to school celebration. We’ll have food trucks and activities!
We’ll have The Varsity and Texas Tacos food trucks (free) but bring some cash for Kona Ice!
Invite your friends and be sure to bring lawn chairs and blankets for picnic style eating. Drinks will be provided as well as some games and activities.

Girls Night Out – Stepping Stones
Join us as we get creative and make a stepping stone for our yard or garden. All supplies included in the $10 fee. 
Pay $10 at the door, but please RSVP by July 25th, so we’ll have enough Stepping Stones for everyone to make a treasured keepsake. Dinner is potluck. List what you will provide in the comment section when you RSVP.

Back to School Celebration
August 4th (Combined worship): This celebration is not just for those with children in school, it’s for the entire church family!
Come and have some free food, fellowship, and fun! Bring a blanket or some chairs for outdoor seating.
We are looking for some drink and dessert donations along with volunteers for this event. Please see sign up here!
 
3rd Grade Bible Presentation
August 11th at 9am and 11am Services: Parents, if you have a child who will begin 3rd grade this school year please fill out a form and return to Nichole Hall by August 4th. Forms are located at the Nursery desk and in Classroom E4/E6. Completed forms can be returned to these locations in the designated folder.

Caregiver Support Group
When: 3rd Monday of each month.
Time: 10a
Where: Church Admin Building
Who: Anyone proving care for a loved one with a long-term illness, physical or mental
Why: To exchange stories, suggestions and resources. To be with others in similar circumstances, who can understand your concerns.

Renew Women’s Conference
August 17th @ 9:30am: The Women’s and Children’s Ministry Teams are very excited to announce our first Women’s Conference here at Hickory Flat! Karen Stubbs, founder of Birds on a Wire, will be our Keynote Speaker for the morning session. We will have a variety of topics for our breakout sessions after lunch including a yoga and a self-defense class. All ages of women are welcome! Stephen Ministry

Fitness Class

Grooming the Next Generation for Success – Fall 2019 Study
Join us this fall for a study which focuses on: Self-image, People skills, Correction & Accountability, Work vs Play, Financial Responsibility, Dreams and Goals, Nutrition, Spiritual Warfare, etc. This study is for parents of children and adults of children and grandchildren seeking to shape the next generation. Downtown Atlanta Homeless Ministry

Our Homeless Ministry visits Atlanta once a month to share the love of Christ with our homeless neighbors. We pray with many that we meet and offer kindness and care (food, hygiene kits) to people who are often ignored or unseen. How can you participate? Donate food or other items. Help with meal preparations or travel to Atlanta with the team.

Sunlight of the Spirit Alcoholics Anonymous

Meetings are held each Friday, 7pm, in Trailer D3. For more information, contact Mike, 770.653.3999.

AL-ANON

Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship that offers a program of recovery for the families and friends of alcoholics, whether or not the alcoholic recognizes the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help. Alcoholism is a family disease. The program is anonymous and protects the identity of the participants. The group will meet on Friday nights at 7pm in Trailer D4. For questions, call 678.468.6150.

GED Classes

Hickory Flat Church offers free GED classes to anyone 18 years and older. Classes meet on Monday and Thursday evenings, 6-9pm. For additional details, visit our GED page or contact Ronnie Holbert.
