MINISTRIES FOR ADULTS
Looking to connect with other Christians for fellowship and growth in your faith? At Hickory Flat Church, we believe that discipleship happens by design. We also believe it doesn’t take place in isolation, but rather in community. Adult groups meet on campus or in each others’ homes regularly to learn from God’s Word, pray for and fellowship with each other, and grow in relationship with each other and with Jesus Christ.

In class we read the scripture text for that particular Sunday and discuss how it relates to our lives. This class is currently meeting every Sunday at 11am. Emmaus Community
Walk to Emmaus is a three-day experience that takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle. It is a highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them their families, congregations and the world in which they live. Through your participation in a Walk to Emmaus you will discover how grace is real in your life, how you can live in the life of grace, and bring grace to others. You will have the opportunity to participate in the daily celebration of Holy Communion, and to begin to understand more fully the presence of Christ in his body of believers. You will also experience God’s grace personally through the prayers and acts of service of a living support community.
There currently is no leader for the Emmaus Community at Hickory Flat UMC. If you would like to be put on the mailing list of existing members at Hickory Flat UMC, please contact: Drew Laughlin

PRAYER TEAM
We believe in the power of intercessory prayer. We cannot explain how God works in prayer, but we know there are some things God will not do unless we pray. Intercessory prayer calls forth God’s power: and when God’s power enters, a new situation is always created. The Hickory Flat UMC Prayer Team prays over requests from the community and beyond, lifting them to God’s listening ear.
